The restoration of an attic in a typical building of the '900 is an opportunity to create a new living space: the existing roof’s profile for the most part remains as is, therefore not changing the proportions of the building. Simply a "bent wing" on the south side needed to be created, towards the inner courtyard , to achieve a terrace. The key element of the project is the stairwell with double height glass and iron staircase that allows access to the attic level: an open space environment that includes the kitchen, dining-living area and study. A sun filled dynamic space, read under the new roof in white wood is lit by large windows.
